Most popular in Scotland are our white water rafting trips on the river Tay. This has a huge catchment area, plus water is held in the 17 mile long Loch Tay, meaning that rafting trips are possible right throughout the year, even when rainfall levels are low.
Additionally it is a great, introductory rafting trip suitable for all. Its flatter, meandering sections allow plenty of opportunity for novices to learn the basics of paddling on your raft, as well as enjoying the scenery along the river and simply to have great fun whilte white water rafting on the water in Perthshire.
However, the Tay trips do still include some extreme white water, especially at the Grandtully rapids. Highly recommended as a first experience of white water river rafting in Scotland.
The river Tummel offers a much more challenging descent. Prior experience is not essential, however you should be aware this white water rafting trip is for the adventurous rather than the faint-hearted on one of Perthshire's top rivers and rapids.
We run the section from below the Clunie Dam down into Loch Faskally, near Pitlochry. This has a dam-controlled water release, so has the advantage that water levels are pretty much guaranteed. Dam releases are normally scheduled every weekend from June to September inclusive.
This is a narrow, technical descent (up to Grade IV+) and culminates in a double-drop water fall at the Linn of Tummel. Definately one of the top white water rafting experiences in Perthshire for you to enjoy while on holiday in Scotland.
